Macao Customs Services
Born in Macao on 28 September 1965, Mr. Choi Lai Hang graduated from the Macao Salesiano College in 1982.
Mr. Choi worked in the Government Shipyard from 1983 to 1986. He officially joined the Marine and Customs Police in July 1987. After completing the first Training Course for Police Officers, he was promoted to the position of Superintendent in January 1995. And then from 1996 to 1998, he was promoted to the position of Senior Superintendent, Assistant Commissioner and Senior Assistant Commissioner. And after completing a course in Leadership and Command in 1998, he was promoted to the position of Deputy Commissioner in December of the same year. In March 1999 he was promoted to the post of Commissioner of Marine and Customs Police and took fully charge of the force numbering more than one thousand. He has won four awards for his services and in 1998 he was awarded the Medal of Outstanding Professional Achievement.
In addition to the Training Course for Police Officers and the Course in Leadership and Command in 1998, Mr. Choi has attended many other courses relating to his work, such as " Training Course on Measures to Combat commercial Fraud", which was run in Japan in 1995, and the " Customs. International Executive Management Program" in Australia in 1996, and has represented Macao at various international conferences for leaders in the Customs services.
On 4 December 2004, Mr. Choi was reappointed by the Central People's Government as Director-General of the Macao Customs Service for a second term of the Macao SAR Government. On 23 November 2009, was reappointed for a third term as Director General of Customs.
